How CareCubed helps local authorities to maximise limited budgets

iESE is an NSCC Network Founding Partner, focused on transforming public services and retaining experience within the sector. We asked their commercial director Craig White to tell us about the innovative CareCubed tool and their upcoming directors briefing sessions.

The adoption of iESE’s National Cost of Care tool, CareCubed, continues to rapidly increase across both Health and Social Care commissioners and providers.

Both adults and children’s services are using the tool at scale now, and this is bringing a consistent approach and robust methodology based on vast amounts of data and evidence. Ultimately, this ensures value for money from limited budgets whilst creating a vibrant and sustainable sector.

CareCubed provides critical support for so many of the local, regional and national challenges and policies currently on the agenda in Wales, including the ‘eliminate’ program where it will help understand levels of sustainable profit and allow multiple scenarios to be tested and a transparency tool to support the discussion between providers and commissioners.

As a founding member of the NSCC network and Community Interest Company, iESE is working closely with both provider and commissioning customers and key stakeholders across Wales to maximise the value and support the sector as much as we possibly can. For example, we have provided free negotiation training to all Welsh Local Authorities and Health Boards which received rave reviews and dovetails perfectly with the use of the CareCubed tool.

All attendees at the NSCC conference received an offer from iESE to carry out a few placement reviews to not only show the immediate value of the CareCubed tool, but to deliver some immediate benefits through a transparent bench-marking exercise and data to support fee negotiations. This was very well received and many have taken up the offer, but we would like to extend this invite to others. If this is of interest, please do get in touch.

The National Social Care Conference is a key event for us which we always find very well run, allowing us to have lots of valuable discussions, and it is something we are committed to continue sponsoring in future years.

This year’s event also saw the launch of our new sourcing tool which provides an end-to-end digital solution to carry out the whole brokerage process from referral to contracting – with direct integration with the CareCubed cost of care tool to provide benchmark costs at the point of brokerage. We had lots of interesting discussions and there is a real feeling of excitement about this new development and how it can further enable the specific aspirations and strategic initiatives across Wales – making them a reality.

We are delivering two repeated Directors Briefing sessions for senior leaders in Welsh Councils and Health Boards. These valuable sessions will provide updates, share best practice and more details regarding the new developments.
