Simon is a Research Fellow with a specialist focus on preventative health and social care, particularly in regard to older people and those living with dementia. Recent projects have included a principles-focused evaluation of the Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales), as well as assessing the patient acceptability of new clinical pathways for those living with age-related conditions.

Prior to that, a core focus of Simon’s work has been around dignity in older age, predominantly in care settings such as NHS wards or care homes. Most recently, Simon has been pursuing a research fellowship looking to determine best practice in relation to preventative social care and support as it relates to issues of ageing across four Welsh regions.
