Samantha has worked in the public sector for more than 20 years. In 2018, Samantha set up Wales’s first TEC-based Local Authority Trading Company (LATC), which involved the transfer of Carmarthenshire County Council’s telemonitoring service into Delta Wellbeing. The company has seen significant growth, including the delivery of the award-winning CONNECT service, funded by Welsh Government’s Health and Social Care Regional Integration Fund. This service is transforming health and social care services across west Wales.
Samantha is a Board Member for the TEC Services Association (TSA), the representative body for TEC services, working on behalf of and advising organisations including telecare and telehealth providers, suppliers, housing associations, care providers, emergency services, academia, charities, government bodies and health and social care commissioners. She is also on the board of Care & Repair Carmarthenshire Wales-funded project looking at the relationship between household risk factors and the later entry of children into local authority care. She was recently awarded further funding from Health and Care Research Wales to carry out a three-year project investigating children returning home from care.
