James writes: ‘Like many young people who grow up in care, sometimes I felt like the odds were stacked against me. How do I find my way in this world? Who is going to support me to get there? Where do I even start? When I left care, I moved to London to study design, and I became obsessed with how we can use technology to make a positive impact on society.’

‘I started Muse by chance; I thought, if I was going to impact any industry, why not start with where I came from. For the last five years I’ve been working with organisations and young people to help answer some of those questions and improve services through innovation.’
