  Shared Lives Plus

Shared Lives is an innovative service model that bridges the gap between health and social care. It has the potential to deliver an integrated approach that can transform service delivery to achieve better outcomes for the individual.

In Shared Lives someone who needs support is matched with a Shared Lives carer in their community. The Shared Lives carer opens up their home to provide long-term, live-in support, short-breaks, respite or day support, depending on the needs and wishes of the individual. The aim is to provide a sustaining, meaningful relationship that will equip people with the skills and support they need to manage everyday challenges and live independently. The service is managed by Shared Lives Schemes. There are eight in Wales. They recruit & train Shared Lives carers and monitor arrangements. The service is regulated by the Care Inspectorate Wales..

Shared Lives Plus UK is the national membership group for Shared Lives carers and schemes. In Wales our development team work to promote and develop the service. Although not well known Shared Lives services are available across the country and new services are currently being developed to support people with ill-health, older people and those with dementia.

Wales & West Utilities

Every day our skilled and dedicated colleagues do their very best to keep our 7.5 million customers safe and warm, with a gas network they can rely on and a level of service they can trust.
We don’t sell gas, instead we use our extensive network of pipes to transport gas to homes and businesses throughout Wales and south west of England.
We respond to gas emergencies, and we invest £2 million every week across our network, connecting new properties and replacing old metal pipes with new long lasting ones, to make sure the communities we serve receive a safe and reliable gas supply for generations to come.
It’s a vital service – and one we are extremely proud to deliver.
